Find Your Way in Uncertain Times
When life feels uncertain, complex, and you feel pulled in multiple directions, learn to orient again with:
Wayfinding for Modern Life
A 4-month program for leaders and practitioners who want to meet uncertainty, decision, and change with greater clarity, steadiness, and self-trust.
Next cohort begins September 3rd
As the world grows louder and more complex, it's easy to feel disconnected, lost, and unsure of how to proceed.
For millennia, we've moved through unknowns.
By engaging our direct experience, felt sense and orienting beyond the edges of our identity. We've learned how to adapt and respond practically to what is arising, when no clear path is given.
Current times are bringing additional opportunities and challenges, inviting us to return to what we may have forgotten and discover new ways of engaging uncertainty and orienting in the face of change.
Finding one’s way is a practice. Over 4 months and 18 hours of live sessions, this program brings principles and tacit forms of know-how into modern life as practices you can embody and carry into moments of transition, choice, and change.
This is for people who:
Are moving through transitions or uncertainty, and want a way of engaging that feels alive and sustainable.
Feel fragmented or disconnected, and are longing for a deeper sense of coherence.
Feel that their way of living and being in the world does not fit into dominant norms and are seeking a sense of direction that feels in integrity with who they are and are becoming.
Want tools for orienting and engaging in complexity that are simple, embodied, and embedded in their own experience.
Are in a liminal space between one role, or phase of their life and another, and are seeking to actively shape the next stretch of their path.
What We Cover:
Over the course of our time together, you'll have the opportunity to focus on a project you're wanting to develop, a practice you're looking to cultivate, or an idea that's still taking form, or simply to connect more deeply to your way of living and moving in the world, and what it means to inhabit that more fully.
-
Recognize where you are, surface intentions of where you'd like to focus. Gain practices for orienting and sensing your next steps even in moments when you feel stuck or doubtful. Understand how you can work with uncertainty rather than feel inhibited by it. You'll begin noticing the layers of information in the current moment and beginning to sense how to draw upon them. We will focus on orientation as a capacity and sensing multiple layers of information as a practice.
-
Learn to engage the places around you as sources you can be in conversation with that can offer support and information. Explore uncertainty, feelings of being between one place and another, and experiences of something being "off" as vital aspects of seeing and sensing your way. We will focus on negative capability as a capacity and engaging with what hasn't quite taken form as a practice.
-
Meet tension and difficulty with steadiness instead of being thrown by them. Perceive from the edges of what you know rationally. Develop your ability to read beneath the surface of a situation, attending to what is felt and implied as much as what is visible and stated. We will focus on cultivating inner congruence as a capacity and finding your ground to meet difficulty and resistance as they arise.
-
Understand how your energy moves and what sustains your capacity to engage over time. Learn to distinguish what is relevant and generative from what distracts or diminishes your clarity and presence. Cultivate the ability to get beneath mood and emotion to surface information for aligned decision making. We will focus on cultivating discernment as a capacity and tuning into rhythm as a practice for aligned decision making.
-
Learn by moving, adjusting your course as you go rather than waiting for certainty. Iterate your practice and adapt according to what arises. Notice the particulars of a situation and what's being invited of you. Tighten the feedback loops between reflection and response. We will focus on cultivating reflexivity as a capacity and calibration as a practice.
-
Hold the immediate next step and the bigger picture at the same time. Recognize your next steps while tracking the larger context. Listen to the moment to sense how to respond. Hone your wayfinding practice. We will focus on cultivating metacognition as a capacity and the conversational nature of wayfinding as a praxis.
By the end, you'll strengthen your capacity to engage complexity without losing yourself, recover meaning in real time, and move forward with a steadiness rooted in lived authority.
Through this work, you will:
-
Instead of feeling lost, you'll develop resilience in the face of the inherent uncertainty of modern life, helping you feel less anxiety and more agency as things unfold.
-
Instead of outsourcing your authority, you'll cultivate your discernment and ability to find your way through all manner of situations and challenges.
-
Instead of feeling pulled apart by competing demands, you'll learn to notice how different pieces fit together, giving rise to a subtle continuity in your life that's always present beneath the surface.
-
Instead of ending the day drained, you'll notice a natural vitality emerging from the way you engage. You'll feel more connected to yourself, present in your relationships, and in touch with the world around you.
